This introductory course is designed for anyone new to injection molding for LSR (liquid silicone rubber). It provides a foundation for understanding the injection molding process for LSR and the critical practice of good production techniques. Participants will grasp the elements and variables involved in the injection molding process for LSR and learn key terminology that will help them communicate and solve molding problems.
Students will leave this course familiar with all major components of an injection molding machine, mold, and material delivery system as well as what happens during each phase of the cycle and the general nature and properties of liquid silicone rubber. This is an introductory course that will set students up for success when attending the in-person course, Systematic Molding for LSR.
